The Family Link parental controls app is a companion app designed specifically for parents. Please note that this app should only be downloaded on devices that are used by children or teenagers.

Discover the power of the Family Link parental controls app by Google. Whether you have young children or teenagers, this app allows you to remotely establish digital guidelines to support their learning, playtime, and online exploration. For children under 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your country), Family Link also enables you to create a Google Account for your child with similar functionalities and access to most Google services, much like your own account.

With the Family Link parental controls app, you can:

 <li>Guide them to appropriate content: Gain insight into your child's activity by viewing their app usage. Recognize that not all screen time is equal, and help your child make healthy choices about their Android device usage. Detailed activity reports provide you with information on how much time they spend using their favorite apps, available on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Additionally, enjoy the convenience of approving or blocking apps your child wants to download from the Google Play Store. Manage in-app purchases and remotely hide specific apps from their device.</li>

<li>Fuel their curiosity: Navigating through various apps suitable for your child can be challenging. Family Link solves this by presenting teacher-recommended apps on Android directly to you, allowing you to add them directly to their device.</li>

Continuing with the extensive features of the Family Link parental controls app:

 <li>Maintain screen time control: Take charge of determining the appropriate amount of screen time for your child. Set time limits and create a bedtime schedule for their supervised devices, helping them strike a healthy balance between technology and other activities. Furthermore, enjoy the flexibility of remotely locking a supervised device whenever you feel it's time for a break, be it to encourage outdoor play, family dinners, or quality time together.</li>

<li>Keep tabs on their location: Knowing your child's whereabouts can be invaluable. Family Link allows you to locate your child as long as they carry their Android device.</li>

Here are some important considerations:

 <li>Family Link's tools may vary depending on your child's device. You can refer to the list of compatible devices at families.google.com/familylink/setup.</li>

<li>While Family Link helps manage your child's purchases and downloads from the Google Play Store, they will not need approval for installing app updates (including permission expansions), previously approved apps, or apps shared in the Family Library. It is advisable for parents to regularly review their child's installed apps and app permissions through Family Link.</li>

<li>Carefully review the apps on your child's supervised device and disable any that you do not want them to use. Note that disabling pre-installed apps may not always be possible.</li>

<li>To locate your child or teenager's device, it must be powered on, recently active, and connected to the internet.</li>
 
 <li>Teacher-recommended apps are currently available only for parents in the United States who have Android devices and children of certain ages.</li>
 
 <li>It is important to note that while Family Link provides tools to manage your child's online experience, it does not guarantee internet safety. Instead, it aims to provide parents with choices regarding their children's internet usage and foster conversations about responsible online behavior.</li>
